There has been a common thread shared by extremist movements that have captured the world’s attention, In every instance,there has been vicious attacks on women and girl’s rights. Recently, over 500 women turned up to dupport the local military and AU forces days after their bases in Somalia came under Al shabab attack. Skin lightening is common among dark skinned people in many parts of the world. Although the use of bleaching products has been banned in many countries, some still allow the manufacture of products containing toxic chemicals. Women like Grace Amey Obeng from Ghana are trying to shun its use by educating women and men how to care for their skin without using harmful cream.
